In  S K R Engineering college the department of Electronics and communication engineering as established  as a full fledged  Post graduate Program in V LSI design in the academic year 2009-2010.The curriculum is designed to have 4 semester  ,the total number of credits to be earned is 68 for the award of degree.

The program officers a powerful base from applied Mathematics, Dsp Ic, advanced digital system design solid state modeling ,introduction of low power to the advanced design both in analogue and digital design with different elective’s

From the  16 Elective courses very essential 4 elective courses  are offered. The program is structured with two laboratory courses  VLSI one and two.HDL language and simulations in the   VHDL and Verilog programming  are given in the first phase of the programs .In the second phase different applications like real time clock, traffic light control ,LCD control using MP Lab, Sportan  ,FPGA  are. Done. Tanner software  programs  are also done. During the final semester Projects in VLSI design in the advanced topics are given  making it compulsory to publish in the international journal

Experts faculty drawn from industry and academia are the catalysts to exploit and facilitate valuable exposure to the real time processing of VL SI design , both in analogue and digital VLSI.. Students and staff participated  in Seminars both national and international level .Seminars    in Lab view and in Fusion of DIP using VLSI was conducted. More students and staff attended symposium on “Instrumentation and control “on 18 to 19 March 2011 in C I &S Department, Madras University. A.Aswin Jeba matir got “S” grade in  Solid state device modeling in Anna university. M.Arthy Pg student presented paper in the national level symposium conducted by Vels Srinivasa college of engineering.
